Watercolor is a medium that I feel is highly underrated. I do believe that it is regaining its popularity due to the rediscovery of works by artists such as the late Egon Schiele and Walter Ingles Anderson, as well as through its use by recognized contemporary artists, such as Marlene Dumas. These artists and many others have proven that the watercolor medium can be used to great effect when handled in a unique way.

Though I have worked in oil, I much prefer the looseness of water-based media. I have created many mixed media pieces utilizing the vivid colors of gouache and acrylic ink with the fluidity and beauty of layered watercolor paint. Conceptually, I have attempted to relate my experiences (particularly from planning my wedding) to connect to other’s lives.
